Director of the Year This award recognizes the tennis director for accomplishments during the past year. These accomplishments are based on creating and/or growing a comprehensive tennis program with the focus on high-level social and competitive programming, retail services and overall quality and value to membership and/or clients. Click here to submit your nomination Criteria: Small facility Director must have 8 or fewer courts Large facility Director must have 9 or more courts Must have 1 or more pros working under him or her Must be USPTA P1 and/or PTR Professional Must be a member in good standing and actively participate in GPTA events Head Professional of the Year: This award recognizes the head professional for hard work and commitment to the tennis program as support to the Tennis Director. This Head Professional should be viewed as one of our “upcoming directors.” Click here to submit your nomination Criteria: Small facility Head Professional must have 8 or fewer courts Large facility Head Professional must have 9 or more courts Must have at least have a distinct ownership of a portion of the overall tennis program (i.e., direct the junior program or adult program) Must manage several program items throughout the year Must be USPTA P2 and/or PTR Instructor Must be a member in good standing and actively participate in GPTA events Assistant Professional of the Year This award recognizes the Assistant Professional for hard work and commitment to the tennis program as support to the Tennis Director. This Assistant Professional should be viewed as one of our “upcoming Head Professionals.” Click here to submit your nomination Criteria: Small facility Assistant Professional must have 8 or fewer courts Large facility Assistant Professional must have 9 or more courts Must be a full-time professional at a club/facility Must provide at least one other member service in addition to teaching lessons Must be USPTA P2 and/or PTR Instructor Must be a member in good standing and actively participate in GPTA events
Independent Professional of the Year This award recognizes the individual who teaches independently and continues to grow the game of tennis through his or her accomplishments, service and teaching skills. Click here to submit your nomination Criteria: Part-Time Independent Professional must teach a minimum of 10 hours per week Full-Time Independent Professional must teach a minimum of 30 hours per week Must actively participate in pro-ams tournaments, charity events and/or community leagues and tournaments Must be a member in good standing and actively participate in GPTA events THE GEORGIA PEACH (Outstanding Tennis Facility of the Year) The Georgia Peach awards the best overall facility of both small and large size. This award recognizes a public facility, private club or neighborhood facility for its achievement as the most cutting-edge and well-run tennis program in Georgia while maintaining high standards of appearance, cleanliness and service offered within day-to-day operations. Click here to submit your nomination Criteria: Large Facility Award – 9 or more courts, Small Facility Award – 8 or fewer courts Must show an unquestionable measurement of improvement from the program in previous years Program should have at least two full-time teaching professionals and a centralized facility Overall program must be made of individually comprehensive parts including a junior program, adult program, league program, special interest clinics, maintenance program, retail service and special events Program should contribute to the local tennis community through charity events, city or state tournaments, and/or hosting annual tennis events for special interest groups Must offer a diverse selection of special events and competition for its membership/players Cosmetic alterations that improve member satisfaction are a plus At least one “WOW” factor that separates the facility from all others All tennis professionals on staff must be GPTA members Good luck!
